Fitness and Wellbeing

Hydrotherapy Pool Sessions

Warm-water pool sessions provide a gentle, supportive way for dogs to exercise while reducing pressure on the joints. The buoyancy of the water can make movement easier, helping to improve strength, mobility, confidence and overall conditioning.

Aquatic Treadmill Therapy

Our underwater treadmill allows for controlled movement in warm water, with adjustable water depth, speed and incline. This helps support gait, limb movement, safe strengthening and rehabilitation for dogs of different sizes, ages and abilities.

Recovery and Condition Support

Hydrotherapy can help dogs recovering from surgery or injury, as well as those managing long-term conditions such as arthritis, joint disease, obesity, spinal conditions and soft tissue injuries.

How It Helps

How hydrotherapy supports your dog

At Moredge Canine Rehabilitation, we provide controlled hydrotherapy in warm water to support dogs through recovery, rehabilitation, fitness and long-term wellbeing. Using our hydrotherapy pool and aquatic treadmill, each session is carefully tailored to your dog’s individual needs, helping to improve mobility, build strength, support confidence and encourage a better quality of life.

Warm-water support for easier movement

In the hydrotherapy pool, your dog can exercise with less strain on their joints while still working their muscles. Moving through water naturally creates resistance, helping to build strength, improve conditioning and support cardiovascular fitness.

The pool is maintained at 28 to 30°C, providing a comfortable therapeutic environment. This warmth can help support circulation, ease muscle tension and encourage relaxation throughout the session.

Controlled rehabilitation on the aquatic treadmill

Our aquatic treadmill allows your dog to walk in warm water while supported by reduced weight-bearing exercise. By adjusting the water depth, speed and incline, we can tailor each session to encourage correct limb movement, safe strengthening and improved mobility.

The treadmill’s clear glass sides allow our hydrotherapists to observe your dog’s gait, posture and limb function throughout the session, helping us provide careful, hands-on support as they progress.

Conditions We Support

What can hydrotherapy help with?

Hydrotherapy can support dogs with a wide range of orthopaedic, neurological and soft tissue conditions. At Moredge, each session is tailored to your dog’s needs, helping them exercise safely while building strength, improving mobility and supporting long-term wellbeing.
